(UK) New guidance on advertising: protecting children and young people - in force from 1st April 2019
Posted on: Feb 14 2019

The new guidance on advertising released by CAP UK and by The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) being enforced from April 1st 2019.

For Videoslots to remain compliant, we require affiliates to make sure that if they use social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc in the UK – that its feeds are not being viewed by children and young people of under 18 years. We expect you as an affiliate to use the platform tools available to you, to restrict under 18s’ from accessing your social media content.

If this is not possible, or you cannot guarantee that children and under 18´s are not able to view your content, we expect all UK facing content on social platforms to be removed. As an affiliate, it is your responsibility as our marketing partner to help us make sure that you comply with CAP UK´s Gambling specific guidance and codes of practice. The latest version of CAP can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1PHfSW6UyRxdWMpWTjQgCuZy7gqw1em7N?usp=sharing

Also, make sure your content has no specific appeal to children and references to youth culture.

Streamers (Twitch) / Influencers

It is very important that you are aware of your audience data such as age breakdown and that your follower-base is not predominantly under 18 and does not comprise more than 25% of the audience. If you wish to continue streaming for Videoslots as a brand in the future, we would need this information from you and confirmed as accurate as soon as possible. Please confirm this with your account manager as to exactly what we require.

Thank you.
